We decided as a group (Trinity, Tommy and I) that we were going to do a stop motion film that would last about 30 seconds comprised of hundreds of images of a man going through space.
Critique we received back:
Being New to Digital Cinema we may want to choose a different idea, because when you do stop motion with a person it becomes extremely difficult and requires a lot of skill to make it seem smooth and not jerky.
Suggestions were made to do an object instead, easier to control the movements of an object because it doesn't have to move during takes.
Also, a conclusion or reaching of a goal throughout the movie is needed, otherwise seems useless and without value.
Taking that many photographs around midtown might be too difficult.
Being photographers, I don't think we would have a problem on how many photographs we need to take however, with finals coming up and BFA shows I do think it is a valid concern that we might be taking on too much with the stop motion with a human.
It would be interesting to see what you could do with an object, and, humanize it in some sort of way. Have you thought of objects you could use or will you stick with the person?
